the cold feet syndrome

i receive daily lots of messages about my dolls. some mamas seem anxious and ask: "what's the matter, she (he) dances nights and days, she (he) runs all the time…" some others are desperate: "please tell me it will get better not worse...?

see this little girl. her name is grace and she promised to be calm, quiet, helpful and polite. she tried so hard, but she really couldn't. why?

DON'T WORRY, i know what happens.

yesterday, grace was quietly horseplaying, tickling, wiggling with yoko and lou, when yoko came breathless, screaming "mommyyyy, we have a situation!" i let my knitting and rushed, panicked!
"mommy, grace she has very cold feet, that's why she jumps all the time!"

oh my goodness! i tried to quantify the temperature of her feet: im-pos-si-ble! they were too cold and the thermometer couldn't work.

fast, fast, i had to do something!

of course, we wrapped a blanket around her feet, and i took my emergency materials:

a skein of big yarn,
a pair of needles size 11,
london calling (65 minutes, exactly what you need to knit and sew a pair of boots)
dishwashing soap

nice gummi gloves
blonde on blonde (the cd, you can't offer you three pauses, you have a situation, remember! so 72 minutes to felt)

a kettle

first i washed my hair and put the avocado mask (never waste your time! 138 minutes of your life, it's precious.)

so, i spent 62 minutes knitting my usual boots pattern, with some minor modifications (yarn is a little bigger, needles 10 or 11, stockinette instead of garter). you'll see, 62 minutes go fast with the clash!

caution: you have now 3 minutes to fill and switch on the kettle, sew your boots, weave ends, etc. hurry!

i obtained a floppy disgusting pair of boots. perfect!(sorry, i took photos of the floppy boots, but the flash card stayed on my desk.)

then, felting! don't forget the music, it will be your best friend for an hour and twelve minutes (and one seconde but nobody knows).

put your floppy boots in boiled water, then rub and scrub and rub again with soap during an hour. just follow the music.

why ONLY ONE HOUR? hehe, because as soon as begins sad eyed lady of the lowlands, it's time to rince. twelve minutes of clear water.
ain't you stoned now?

then?
then look at your perfect tiny felted boots. press them and let them dry.
(btw, rince your hair, you won't spend a whole day with avocado on your head)

so, if your doll seems excited or agitated, just measure the temperature of her feet, she probably has the cold feet syndrome!
knit her felt boots and her whole life will be transformed…
