onfroy the IV

once upon a time in a faraway countryside a long long time ago, lived a little boy named onfroy. onfroy like his father, like his grand-father, like his great-grand-father… onfroy the IV was born in a krak. he had a loving mom and a brave dad.

— look at those pink cheeks, look at those freckles… said her mom's friends!
— and what a cute quiet baby!

that's true, onfroy was a very quiet boy. a daydreamer.
even ferocious wolves became sweet lambs when they approached him.

unfortunately, a lord of toron had to become a knight, despite he didn't like to ride a horse.

— i don't want to be a knight, repeated onfroy, i don't like battles. i'd prefer being a miller and sleep during the wind blows*.

he really loved having a nice cup of tea on the battlements with princess isabelle, king amaury's daughter, his fiancee.
oh my god, isabelle and onfroy! what a nice pair of kids. they loved tenderly each other…

— won't you be cold there? asked onfroy before opening the picnic basket?
— i'm fine sweet heart. isn't your chain mail too heavy?

and he picked up flowers for his beloved…

alas, alas, one day king amaury died!

— wake up, onfroy, said the barons, you must be the next king!
— oh no no no, i don't wanna be a king, never never ever! answered onfroy.
(of course, he didn't shout, he didn't knock the floor with his foot, he just stayed calm and very polite, he couldn't stand yellings and screams.)

— come on, sir, choose your motto and go, said the barons, jerusalem needs a king.

— what are you embroidering, sweet heart, asked princess isabelle?
— look at that, this is my motto, answered proudly onfroy. "pax et amor", it means "peace and love". isn't it the best motto ever?
— hmm darling, not sure the barons will appreciate. they are so traditional…

and the barons didn't like it! let's vote for another guy, they said.**

life is so unfair! isabelle and onfroy were obliged to be separated. poor isabelle married an ugly old man and became a queen.

onfroy wore his miller outfit and is still in search of a loving family.

if you want to adopt him, follow the link, he'll be for sale auction style tomorrow sunday april-14th at 9pm (new york)

Meunier tu dors, ton moulin, ton moulin va trop vite
Meunier tu dors, ton moulin, ton moulin va trop fort
Ton moulin, ton moulin va trop vite
Ton moulin, ton moulin va trop fort
Ton moulin, ton moulin va trop vite
Ton moulin, ton moulin va trop fort
Meunier tu dors, les nuages, les nuages viennent vite,
Meunier tu dors, et l'orage et l'orage gronde fort !
Les nuages, les nuages viennent vite,
Et l'orage et l'orage gronde fort !
Les nuages, les nuages viennent vite,
Et l'orage et l'orage gronde fort !
